About Patricia Pereira
Dr. Patricia Pereira has a significant educational background. She received her D.D.S. from the University of the Planalto Central, Brasilia, Brazil, in 1993, and received a Ph.D. in Operative Dentistry from Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU), Tokyo, Japan, in 1998. After that, she received a post-doctoral fellowship award in Operative Dentistry for foreign researchers from the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science from 1998-2000 at TMDU. Patricia later pursued a Certificate in Prosthodontics from 2012-2014 at the Patos de Minas Educational Association in Brazil.
Dr. Pereira is currently a Clinical Professor at the Division of Operative Dentistry, Department of Restorative Dental Sciences, Program Director of the Certificate and Masters in Operative and Esthetic Dentistry, and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. She has been involved with academia for the past 20 years, having a broad experience in dental education, administration, research, and leadership not only within the United States but also at dental teaching institutions in Brazil and Japan.
Patricia’s involvement in scholarship includes lectures and presentations nationally and internationally, over 90 publications in peer-reviewed journals, serving as a reviewer, editorial board member, or editor for international and national journals, and mentoring graduate students and junior faculty. She is also a member of the American Dental Association and Florida Dental Association, American Association for Dental Research and International Association for Dental Research, the Academy of Operative Dentistry, and the Brazilian Society of Esthetic Dentistry, among others.
