Interprofessional Learning in HealthCare (IPLH)

Spring & Summer 2024

IPLH is an interprofessional healthcare course for second and third year professional students.

The course content is conducted in an asynchronous, online format that will use team-based learning as a pedagogical method, dividing over 800 students into small interprofessional teams. Faculty facilitators and content experts from across the Health Science Center serve as instructional leaders. Content areas, selected by a Strategic Planning Committee for the University of Florida Health Science Center, will include health systems, professional ethics, and health care quality.

An evaluation scheme to determine the level of interprofessional collaboration as well as knowledge-based outcomes has been developed. Participants in this course include second-year students in the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy; the DNP and accelerated BSN students from the College of Nursing; first-year Masters of Public Health students; second-year students in the doctoral program in Physical Therapy; and third year students in the doctoral program in Occupational Therapy.
